Chapter 17 · Verse 1620
इन्द्रं वो विश्वतस् परि हवामहे जनेभ्यः. अस्माकम् अस्तु केवलः
Asmåkam astu kevala¨. For the sake of you all of humanity, we invoke and we pray He may be with us in vision in a state of absolute bliss.
हे इन्द्र, हम सब मनुष्यों के लिए आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, आप हमारे अकेले स्वामी बनें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1621
स नो वृषन्नमुं चरुं सत्रादावन्नपा वृधि. अस्मभ्यम् अप्रतिष्कुतः
Indra, lord of the universe, light of the world, generous lord of wealth, irresistible wielder of power, generous giver of showers, grant us the yajnic prosperity of life and open the doors of freedom and salvation at the end.
हे इन्द्र, हे विश्व के प्रकाश, हे धन के दाता, हे बलवान, हे वर्षा के प्रदाता, हमें यज्ञ से प्राप्त जीवन की समृद्धि प्रदान करें और अंत में मुक्ति के द्वार खोलें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1622
वृषा य्ञुथेव वँन्सगः कृष्तीर् इयर्त्योजसा. ∫शानो अप्रतिष्कुतः
As the virile bull leads the herd it rules, so does Indra, generous lord indomitable and ruler of the world, inspire and lead His children to joy and freedom.
जैसे शक्तिशाली वृषभ अपने झुंड का नेतृत्व करता है, वैसे ही ऐश्वर्यशाली, अप्रतिरोध्य इंद्र अपने भक्तों को प्रेरित करते हैं और उनका मार्गदर्शन करते हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1623
त्वं नश्चित्र ञुत्या वसो राधाँन्सि चोदय. अस्य रायस् त्वम् अग्ने रथीरसि विदा गाधं तुचे तु नः
Agni, wonderful lord of versatile action, giver of shelter and security of the home, with protection and advancement, inspire and raise our means and materials for success and achievement. O lord of knowledge and vision, you are the guide and pilot of the chariot and wealth and honours of this generation. Give us the message and inspiration of peace, progress and security for our children.
हे अग्निदेव, हे अद्भुत सामर्थ्यवान स्वामी, आप हमारी संपत्ति और ऐश्वर्य को बढ़ाएं। हे ज्ञान और दृष्टि के स्वामी, आप हमारी धन-संपदा और सम्मान के मार्गदर्शक हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1624
अप्रयुत्वभिः. अग्ने हेडाँन्सि दैव्या युयोधि नोइ᳓देवानि ह्वराँन्सि च
Agni, lord of light and culture, you cleanse, refine and enrich our children and teenagers with all nourishments and safeguards for body, mind and soul with unfailing and unchallengeable modes and methods of education and refinement. Resist and overcome the passions and negativities which attract natural wrath and fight out impious temptations from us.
हे अग्निदेव, आप हमारे बच्चों और किशोरों को सभी पोषण और सुरक्षा प्रदान करें, और उन्हें सभी बुराइयों से दूर रखें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1625
किम् इत् ते विष्णो परिचक्षि नाम प्र यद् ववक्षे शिपिविष्ंओ अस्मि. मा वर्पो अस्मद् अप ग्ञुह एतद् यद् अन्यर्ञुपः समिथे बभ्ञुथ
yad anyarμupa¨ samithe babhμutha. Vishnu, can that manifestive form of your presence be described or ignored? You yourself reveal in the Veda that you are self - refulgent. Pray do not hide off that form of yours from me, nor the other one which manifests in the divine wrath and punishment in the existential battle between good and evil.
हे विष्णु, आपका वह रूप जिसे आप प्रकट करते हैं, उसका वर्णन क्यों न किया जाए? आप स्वयं को प्रकाशित बताते हैं, कृपया उस रूप को मुझसे छिपाएँ नहीं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1626
प्र तत् ते अद्य शिपिविष्ंअ हव्यम् अर्यः शँन्सामि वयुनानि विद्वान्. तम् त्वा गृणामि तवसम् अत- व्यान् क्षयन्तम् अस्य रजसः पराके
O lord self-refulgent, you that have made this wide world, I adore today, celebrate and glorify your name: You are the master, lord omniscient of the ways and laws of existence. You are the mighty power, all pervasive far and wide in the moving world, and you are transcendent even beyond.
हे तेजस्वी प्रभु, मैं आज आपके इस विस्तृत जगत को बनाने वाले, सर्वज्ञ और सामर्थ्यवान स्वरूप की स्तुति करता हूँ, जो इस संसार के नियमों को जानते हैं और दूर-दूर तक फैले हुए हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1627
वषं ते विष्णवास आ कृणोमि तन् मे जुषस्व शिपिविष्ंअ हव्यम्. वर्द्धन्तु त्वा सुष्ंउतयो गिरो मे य्ञुयं पात स्वस्तिभिः सदा नः
Vishnu, lord omnipresent, I do honour to your presence in song and offer it to you as homage in words. O lord of universal light of life, pray accept this offer of homage. May my words of celebration exalt your presence in manifestation. O lord, O divinities of nature and humanity, pray protect and promote us with all means and modes of peace, prosperity and all round well being all ways all time.
हे सर्वव्यापी विष्णु, मैं आपको स्तुति और शब्दों द्वारा श्रद्धापूर्वक अर्पण करता हूँ। हे जीवन के सार्वभौमिक प्रकाश के स्वामी, कृपया इस श्रद्धा को स्वीकार करें। मेरी स्तुति के शब्द आपकी अभिव्यक्ति को बढ़ाएँ और हमें सदा कल्याण के साथ सुरक्षित रखें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1628
वायो शुक्रो अयामि ते मध्वो अग्रं दिविष्ंइषु. Å याहि सोमपीतये स्पार्हो देव नियुत्वता
Vayu, lord omnipotent, self-refulgent and generous centre object of universal love, I come to the top of the honey sweets of yajnic creations of light and joy for the life divine, cleansed and pure as I am now. Come for a drink of soma by the chariot and the team of horses.
हे सोमपान के स्वामी, हे स्पृहणीय देव, हे नियुत्वान्, तुम आओ।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1629
इन्द्रश् च वायवेषाम् सोमानाम् पीतिम् अर्हथः. युवाम् हि यन्तीन्दवो निम्नम् आपो न सध्र्यक्
Yuvåm hi yant∂ndavo nimnam åpo na sadhryak. Indra and Vayu, you two love and deserve the drink of these somas distilled in yajnas. Just as waters all together flow to the sea, so do all flows of soma and all movements of dedicated devotees end up when they join you.
हे इन्द्र और वायु, आप दोनों ही सोम के स्वामी हैं और इन सोमों को पीने के योग्य हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1630
वायविन्द्रश् च शुष्मिणा सरथम् शवसस् पती. नियुत्वन्ता न ञुतय आ यातं सोमपीतये
Niyutvantå na μutaya å yåta≈ somap∂taye. Vayu and Indra, most powerful, commander and ruler of the power and force of existence, controllers of the dynamics of energy, come hither together by the same chariot as two in one for the protection and promotion of our yajna of production, honour and excellence.
हे वायु और इन्द्र, शक्ति के स्वामी, एक साथ रथ पर सवार होकर हमारी रक्षा के लिए पधारें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1631
अध क्षपा परिष्कृतो वाजाँन् अभि प्र गाहसे. यदि विवस्वतो धियो हरिम् हिन्वन्ति यातवे
Yadi vivasvato dhiyo harim hinvanti yåtave. When the thoughts and actions of bright celebrants invoke, invite and inspire Soma to move, initiate and bless, then the divine spirit, exalted by the songs, moves toward battles and inspires, energises and exalts their mind and courage for victory.
हे तेजस्वी विद्वानों, जब आपके विचार और कर्म सोम को प्रेरित करते हैं, तब वह विजय के लिए युद्धों की ओर बढ़ता है और मन तथा साहस को ऊर्जावान बनाता है।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1632
तम् अस्य मर्जयामसि मदो य इन्द्रपातमः. यम् गाव आसभिर् दधुः पुरा न्ञुनम् च स्ञुरयः
Yam gåva åsabhir dadhu¨ purå nμunam ca sμuraya¨. That power and ecstasy of this Soma, worthiest of the soul's delight, we adore and exalt, which the sense and mind with their perceptions and reflection receive and which, for sure, veteran sages too have experienced for times immemorial.
हम उस सोम के मद और शक्ति का मार्जन करते हैं, जो इंद्र के लिए सबसे योग्य है, जिसे इंद्रियों और मन ने ग्रहण किया है और जिसे प्राचीन ऋषियों ने भी अनुभव किया है।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1633
तम् गाथया पुराण्या पुनानम् अभ्यन्ञुषत. उतो कृपन्त धीतयो देवानाम् नाम बिभ्रतीः
Uto kæpanta dh∂tayo devånåm nåma bibhrat∂¨. That spirit of Soma, pure and purifying, the celebrants adore and exalt by songs of old in Vedic voice and, the same, thoughts and actions of veteran sages with the divine name content of the lord supplicate and glorify.
वह सोम का पवित्र और शुद्ध करने वाला स्वरूप, प्राचीन स्तोत्रों द्वारा पूजित और प्रशंसित होता है।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1634
अश्वं न त्वा वारवन्तं वन्दध्या अग्निं नमोभिः. सम्राजन्तम् अध्वराणाम्
Agni, brilliant and illuminating power and presence of yajnas from the homely agnihotra to the highest programmes of humanity, like a tempestuous horse of flying hair, we praise you and celebrate you with homage and offerings of food and oblations.
हे तेजस्वी अग्निदेव, हम यज्ञों के सम्राट, आपको नमस्कार और हविष्य से प्रसन्न करते हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1635
स घा नः स्ञुनुः शवसा पृथुप्रगामा सुशेवः. मीढ्वाँन् अस्माकं बभ्ञुयात्
May our children and successors, travelling far and wide with power and knowledge, be good and kind to us and give us showers of wealth and prosperity.
हमारे पुत्र और उत्तराधिकारी, शक्ति और ज्ञान के साथ दूर-दूर तक यात्रा करने वाले, हमारे प्रति अच्छे और दयालु हों और हमें धन और समृद्धि की वर्षा प्रदान करें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1636
स नो द्ञुराच्चासाच्च नि मर्त्याद् अघायोः. पाहि सदम् इद् विश्वायुः
Påhi sadam id vi‹våyu¨. May he, lord of light and knowledge, giver of all joys of life, protect our life, home and industry from far and near against any and every sinful person.
हे प्रकाश और ज्ञान के स्वामी, जीवन के सभी सुखों के दाता, आप हमारी रक्षा करें, हमारे जीवन, घर और उद्योग को दूर और पास से किसी भी पापी व्यक्ति से बचाएं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1637
त्वम् इन्द्र प्रत्ञुर्तिष्वभि विश्वा असि स्पृधः. अशस्तिहा जनिता वृत्रत्ञुर् असि त्वम् त्ञुर्य तरुष्यतः
A‹astihå janitå vætratμur asi tvam tμurya taru¶yata¨. Indra, O inspired soul, in the external conflicts of life and in the internal conflicts of mind, you are the superior over all assailants. You are the destroyer of evil and calumny, creator of goodness and eliminator of impediments. Pray drive off all evil thoughts and oppositions of life and mind.
हे इन्द्र, आप सभी प्रतिद्वंद्वियों पर विजय पाने वाले हैं, बुराई को नष्ट करने वाले और कल्याण के निर्माता हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1638
अनु ते शुष्मं तुरयन्तम् ईयतुः क्षोणी शिशुं न मातरा. विश्वास् ते स्पृधः श्नथयन्त मन्यवे वृत्रं यद् इन्द्र त्ञुर्वसि
Just as mothers follow the desires and interests of children, so do the heaven and earth, all living beings from earth to heaven, think and act in conformity with you, evil destroying power. All oppositions slacken and fall exhausted when you strike and destroy the demons of evil and negativity in the interest of man.
हे इन्द्र, जैसे माताएँ अपने शिशु की इच्छाओं का अनुसरण करती हैं, वैसे ही स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी तथा सभी प्राणी आपकी आज्ञा का पालन करते हैं। जब आप बुराई का नाश करते हैं, तो सभी विरोधी शिथिल होकर थक जाते हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1639
यज्¤अ इन्द्रम् अवर्धयद् यद् भ्ञुमिं व्यवर्त् अयत्. चक्राण ओपशं दिवि
Yajna, joint creative endeavour which protects and replenishes the earth and environment, pleases and elevates Indra, the ruler, and creates a place of bliss in the light of heaven for the doer.
यज्ञ इन्द्र को बढ़ाता है, पृथ्वी को घुमाता है, और स्वर्ग में आनंद का स्थान बनाता है।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1640
व्याýन्तरिक्षम् अतिरन् मदे सोमस्य रोचना. इन्द्रो यद् अभिनद् वलम्
Indro yad abhinad valam. When Indra, lord omnipotent and blissful, eliminates all obstructions and negativities from our paths of progress, then we see the entire space in existence shines with light and overflows with the joy of soma bliss.
जब इन्द्र सभी बाधाओं को दूर करते हैं, तब सोम के आनंद से सारा अंतरिक्ष प्रकाशित हो उठता है।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1641
उद्गा आजद् अΔगिरोभ्य आविष्कृण्वन् गुहा सतीः. अर्वा¤चं नुनुदे वलम्
Arvå¤ca≈ nunude valam. When the lord shakes up our psychic energies to the depths and throws out our darkness and negativities, then he sharpens our senses along with pranic energies and opens out our spiritual potential hidden in the cave of the heart.
हे प्रभु, जब आप हमारी गहनतम आध्यात्मिक ऊर्जाओं को जागृत करते हैं और हमारे हृदय की गुफा में छिपे अंधकार और नकारात्मकता को दूर करते हैं, तब आप हमारी इंद्रियों को प्राणिक ऊर्जाओं के साथ तीक्ष्ण करते हैं और हमारी आध्यात्मिक क्षमता को खोलते हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1642
त्यम् उ वः सत्रासाहं विश्वासु गीर्ष्वायतम्. Å च्यावयस्य्ञुतये
Å cyåvayasyμutaye. O people of the land, that generous and brilliant victor (Sudaksha) in all sessions of the enlightened citizens and celebrated in their universal voices, you elevate to the office of ruler for your defence, protection and progress.
हे भूमीवासियों, उस सर्वव्यापी, तेजस्वी और विजयी को, जो सभी सभाओं में प्रशंसित है, अपनी रक्षा और उन्नति के लिए शासक के पद पर प्रतिष्ठित करो।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1643
युध्मं सन्तम् अनर्वाणं सोमपाम् अन् अपच्युतम्. नरम् अवार्यक्रतुम्
The ruler, warrior that hits the target, being irresistible, protector and valuer of life's joy, inviolable and unsurpassable leader in irrevocable action: such is Indra, elevated ruler.
हे इन्द्र, आप युद्ध में विजयी, अजेय, सोमपान करने वाले, कभी विचलित न होने वाले, और अटल कर्मों में श्रेष्ठ नेता हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1644
›इक्षा ण इन्द्र राय आ पुरु विद्वाँन् ऋचीषम. अवा नः पार्ये धने
Indra, leader in knowledge and wisdom, pursuer of the path of rectitude, guide and lead us to ample wealth and protect us through our struggle for victory of honour and excellence.
हे इन्द्र, ज्ञान और धर्म के मार्ग पर चलने वाले, हमें धन-धान्य से परिपूर्ण करो और विजय के लिए हमारा मार्गदर्शन करो।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1645
तव त्यद् इन्द्रियम् बृहत् तव दक्षम् उत क्रतुम्. वज्रम् शिशाति धिषणा वरेण्यम्
That grandeur and majesty of yours, that power and potential, that continuous act of divine generosity, that adamantine will and force of natural justice and dispensation of the thunderbolt which overwhelms our will and choice commands our sense of discrimination, and we glorify it, we sharpen it, we accept it with adoration.
हे इन्द्र, आपकी वह महान शक्ति, पराक्रम और सामर्थ्य, वह वज्र के समान दृढ़ संकल्प, जो हमारी बुद्धि को भी नियंत्रित करता है, उसकी हम स्तुति करते हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1646
तव द्यौर् इन्द्र पौँन्स्यं पृथिवी वर्द्धति श्रवः. त्वाम् आपः पर्वतासश् च हिन्विरे
The light of heaven glorifies your blazing power, the earth augments your honour and fame, and the rolling floods of water and mighty mountains of majesty do awesome homage to you.
हे इन्द्र, स्वर्ग की ज्योति आपकी शक्ति को बढ़ाती है, पृथ्वी आपकी महिमा को वर्धित करती है।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1647
त्वाम् विष्णुर् बृहन् क्षयो मित्रो गृणाति वरुणः. त्वां शर्द्धो मदत्यनु मारुतम्
Två≈ ‹arddho madatyanu mårutam. Vishnu, cosmic dynamics of nature's expansive sustenance, Mitra, loving and life giving sun, Varuna, soothing and energising oceans of the universe, and the power and force of the showers of cosmic energy all exalt you and receive their life and exaltation from you.
हे विष्णु, आप ही प्रकृति की विस्तारशील शक्ति, मित्र (सूर्य) की प्रेममयी जीवनदायिनी ऊर्जा, वरुण (समुद्र) की सुखदायक और स्फूर्तिदायक शक्ति, तथा वायु की शक्ति से परिपूर्ण वर्षा के स्रोत हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1648
नमस्ते अग्न ओजसे गृणन्ति देव कृष्ंअयः. अमैर् अमित्रम् अर्दय
Amair amitram ardaya. Salutations to you, Agni, refulgent lord of generosity. The people too adore and exalt you. Pray ward off and throw out the enemies and unfriendly forces by your laws and powers.
हे अग्नि देव, आपकी शक्ति को नमन है, लोग भी आपकी स्तुति करते हैं। अपनी शक्ति से शत्रुओं का नाश करें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1649
कुवित् सु नो गविष्ंअयेइ᳓ग्ने संवेषिषो रयिम्. उरुकृद् उरु णस्कृधि
Urukæd uru ƒaskædhi. Agni, refulgent lord, give us ample and high quality wealth for the development and expansion of our lands and cows, and let us too vastly expand and highly rise in life.
हे अग्निदेव, हमें भूमि और गौओं के विस्तार के लिए प्रचुर और उत्तम धन प्रदान करें, और हम भी जीवन में बहुत उन्नति करें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1650
मा नो अग्ने महा धने परा वर्ग् भारभृद् यथा. सं वर्गं सं रयिं जय
Instead, win holy wealth like the yajaka gathering sacred grass for the vedi to perform the yajna.
हे अग्निदेव, जीवन के इस महासंग्राम में हमें थके हुए बोझ ढोने वाले की तरह त्याग न दें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1651
समस्य मन्यवे विशो विश्वा नमन्त कृष्ंअ- यः. समुद्रायेव सिन्धवः
The people, in fact the entire humanity, bow in homage and surrender to this lord of passion, power and splendour just as rivers flow on down and join into the sea.
समस्त प्रजाएँ, हे शक्ति और तेज के स्वामी, समुद्र में मिलने वाली नदियों की भांति, आपको नमन करती हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1652
वि चिद् वृत्रस्य दोधतः शिरो बिभेद वृष्णिना. वज्रेण शतपर्वणा
Vajreƒa ‹ataparvaƒå. And when the lord of might and munificence with his thunderbolt of showers and a hundred potentials shatters the head of Vrtra, terror striking demon of darkness, drought and despair, the bolt is nothing but the blazing omnipotence of the lord.
वज्रधारी प्रभु ने वज्र से वृत्र के सिर को विदीर्ण कर दिया।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1653
ओजस् तद् अस्य तित्विष उभे यत् समवर्त्तयत्. इन्द्रश् चर्मेव रोदसी
Indra‹ carmeva rodas∂. When Indra, lord almighty, pervades and envelops both heaven and earth in the cover of light, the light that shines is only the lord's divine splendour that blazes with glory.
हे इन्द्र, जब आप प्रकाश के आवरण से स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी दोनों को आच्छादित करते हैं, तब वह प्रकाश केवल आपकी ही दिव्य महिमा है जो तेज से चमकती है।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1654
सुमन्मा वस्वी रन्ती स्ञुनरी
Indra is wise and noble at heart, bright and beneficent, joyous is his love, delightful and persuasive his word.
हे इन्द्र, तुम सुबुद्धिमान, धनवान, प्रसन्न और कल्याणकारी हो।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1655
सर्ञुप वृषन्न् आ गहीमौ भद्रौ धुर्या- वभि. ताविमा उप सर्पतः
Pleasing of form universally, generous and abundant as clouds of shower, come Indra, auspicious are these your carriage horses like rays of the sun, like knowledge and action of a mighty soul, and they come close, bearing your Divinity. Lead us on.
हे इन्द्र, मेघों के समान उदार और प्रचुर, सूर्य की किरणों के समान तेजस्वी, ज्ञान और कर्म के समान सामर्थ्यवान, ये तुम्हारे शुभ अश्व तुम्हारे दिव्य स्वरूप को धारण करते हुए हमारे समीप आएं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1656
नीव शीर्षाणी मृढ्वम् मध्य आपस्य तिष्ंहति. ›ऋΔगेभिर् दशभिर् दिशन्
O celebrants, cleanse your mind and thoughts, bow down your heads in reverence, Indra abides in the midst of spatial oceans of energy and realms of light pointing to the paths of action and advancement with all the divine words, wisdom and pranic energies.
हे यजमानों, अपने मन और विचारों को शुद्ध करो, श्रद्धा से सिर झुकाओ, क्योंकि इन्द्र ऊर्जा और प्रकाश के महासागरों के मध्य में स्थित हैं, जो कर्म और उन्नति के मार्ग दिखाते हैं।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1657
पन्यं-पन्यम् इत् सोतार आ धावत मद्याय. सोमं वीराय श्ञुराय
Soma≈ v∂råya ‹μuråya. O makers of soma, to Indra, offer the drink of soma, brave, ecstatic and heroic, and let each draught be more and more delicious and adorable.
हे सोम बनाने वालों, वीर, मदमस्त और पराक्रमी इंद्र के लिए सोम रस को अर्पित करो, और प्रत्येक घूंट अधिक से अधिक स्वादिष्ट और पूजनीय हो।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1658
एह हरी ब्रह्मयुजा शग्मा वक्षतः सखा- यम्. इन्द्रं गीर्भिर् गिर्वणसम्
Let the brave veterans of knowledge and yajnic karma, dedicated to Veda Brahma and humanity, with holy songs of divinity, invoke the most venerable and celebrated lord here on the vedi as our friend and companion.
हे ब्रह्म से युक्त, ज्ञान और कर्म के वीर साथियों, दिव्य स्तुतियों के साथ, यहाँ वेदी पर हमारे मित्र और साथी के रूप में सबसे आदरणीय प्रभु का आह्वान करें।
Chapter 17 · Verse 1659
पाता वृत्रहा सुतम् आ घा गमन्न् आरे अस्मत्. नि यमते शतम् ञुतिः
May the connoisseur of distilled soma, destroyer of darkness, dishonour and destitution, come and never be far away from us. The lord who commands a hundred forces of defence, protection and progress rules all, friends and foes.
हे सोम के पारखी, अंधकार, अपमान और दरिद्रता के नाशक, आप हमारे पास आएं और कभी दूर न हों। सौ सेनाओं के स्वामी, जो रक्षा, सुरक्षा और प्रगति करते हैं, वे मित्र और शत्रु सभी पर शासन करते हैं।
